INTERNET GAMING BILL PASSES SENATE

Calgary, Canada, June 6 2001, Chartwell Technology Inc. (CWH), a leading developer of Java and Flash based online gaming software announces that on June 4th, 2001 the Nevada Senate approved Bill AB466 to become the first State in North America to move towards the regulation of online gaming.

Bill AB466, known as the State of Nevada Enabling Legislation for Interactive Gaming, passed by a margin of 17 to 4 in the State Senate. This Bill empowers the State Gaming Commission and the Gaming Control Board to determine the appropriate regulatory framework for the operation of Internet gambling sites. The Bill now moves on to Nevada State Governor Guinn's office where it has 10 days to be ratified.
